(photo submitted)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As a team, the Marlins finished fourth in Division 3. In 9-10 girls, Jamie Burenga took second in the 50-yard backstroke, while Emma Pollock finished third in the 50-year butterfly. In 11-12 girls, Katie McVaigh took third in the 50-yard backstroke. Sam Easley finished first in 13-14 Boys 50-yard freestyle and second in the 100-yard butterfly. Eric Easley took first in the 15 and over boys\u2019 200 individual medley race.<\/p>\n<p>In order to compete at the YMCA Great Lake Zones (seven-state regional), each swimmer must finish under a pre-determined time by age group and event. Four Van Wert swimmers qualified to compete. In 9-10 girls, Jamie Burenga advanced in the 50-meter backstroke and 100-meter freestyle, while Emma Pollock qualified in the 100 IM.
