{"id":50172,"date":"2014-04-01T01:01:58","date_gmt":"2014-04-01T06:01:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=50172"},"modified":"2014-04-01T01:01:58","modified_gmt":"2014-04-01T06:01:58","slug":"mercer-county-makes-54-stops-3-arrests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2014\/04\/01\/mercer-county-makes-54-stops-3-arrests\/","title":{"rendered":"Mercer County makes 54 stops, 3 arrests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Mercer County Sheriff\u2019s information<\/i><\/p>\n<p>CELINA &#8212; Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey announced his office and the Grand Lake Task Force conducted an eight-hour drug interdiction operation on March 27.\u00a0A K-9 unit from Celina Police Department assisted deputies.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies made 54 traffic stops during the operation and issued traffic citations, 46\u00a0written warnings, and eight verbal warnings.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies also searched five vehicles and one residence and issued four misdemeanor citations (two for possession of marijuana, and two for possession of drug paraphernalia).<\/p>\n<p>Deputies traveled 996 miles.\u00a0Traffic citations included operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI), speed, driving under suspension, and child restraints.<\/p>\n<p>Those arrested included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>James E. Pinson, 32, of Celina, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol\/drugs, and driving under suspension (non-compliance).\u00a0After a K-9 alert, deputies searched the vehicle Pinson was driving and found suspected heroin.\u00a0Additional charges are being considered.<\/li>\n<li>Kevin J.
