FORT RECOVERY — Lincolnview pitcher Eli Farmer pitched a five-hitter, but the Lancer offense stayed home as Fort Recovery edged the Lancers 2-1 in a non-conference baseball game played at Fort Recovery.<\/p>\n
Lincolnview drew first blood, scoring its only run in the top of the first inning, but the Indians scored a run in both the fifth and sixth innings to get the win.<\/p>\n
Jalen Roberts was the top offensive player for the Lancers, going 2 of 3 in the game, while Conner McCleery was 1 of 3 and Austin Leeth went 1 for 4 ad scored Lincolnview\u2019s only run.<\/p>\n
Both of Fort Recovery\u2019s runs were earned, while Farmer also walked three and struck out three.<\/p>\n
Lincolnview Coach Kevin Longstreth had praise for Farmer\u2019s pitching efforts, but said the Lancer offense has to improve if the team is to reach its potential.<\/p>\n
\u201cEli Farmer remained as consistent as he finished last year,\u201d Longstreth said. \u201cHe threw six innings and gave up five hits.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to do a better job of giving him run support,\u201d Coach Longstreth added. \u201cI challenged our hitters to improve offensively from last year and will see how they respond.
