VW Community Concert Band information<\/i><\/p>\n
On Monday, April 21, the Van Wert Area Community Concert Band will begin rehearsals for the upcoming concert season.<\/p>\n
The rehearsals are held from 7:30-9 p.m. each Monday in the Van Wert High School band room, located off Ohio 118. The band is open to anyone wanting to play an instrument in a concert band. Current members vary in age, and playing ability, but have the common interest of performing and making great band music.<\/p>\n
Band members come from Van Wert, Lima, Delphos, Convoy, Payne, Chattanooga, Middle Point, Rockford and Decatur, Ind.\u00a0 It truly is a Van Wert area band.<\/p>\n
Retired Parkway band director Richard Sherrick directs the band, which has as its goal the presentation of a variety of music that is both musically enjoyable to the listener and challenging to the performer.\u00a0 Those with questions regarding participation in the band can call 419.230.6808, or just come to the first rehearsal.
