COLUMBUS — State Representative Tony Burkley (R-Payne) presented the boys\u2019 basketball team from Crestview High School of Convoy with a resolution honoring their Division IV State Championship win.<\/p>\n

The undefeated Crestview basketball team took on St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday, March 22, for the state championship game.<\/p>\n

Crestview came out victorious with a 71-44 win. Their speed, stamina, and up-tempo style of play contributed to their big win. The team was up 26-23 at halftime, but started the second half with an uninterrupted 18-point run, helping them cement the state title early on.<\/p>\n

\u201cI applaud these young men and their state championship victory,\u201d Rep. Burkley said. \u201cThey\u2019ve witnessed the possibilities that come to those who work hard and I wish them all the best in their future endeavors.\u201d<\/p>\n

The team\u2019s coach, Jeremy Best, returned the favor to Rep. Burkley by giving him a Crestview basketball shirt with the names of every teammate listed on the back.<\/p>\n
