NEW BREMEN — The Lancer varsity track teams competed in the New Bremen Cardinal Invitational on Friday night.\u00a0 Highlights included a pair of first- and second-place finishes by leading scorers Hunter Blankemeyer and Bayley Tow.<\/p>\n
Blankemeyer placed second in the 110-meter hurdles, but ran a season best time of 15.2 seconds, breaking his own school record.\u00a0He then turned in a come-from-behind victory in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 41.4 seconds.<\/p>\n
Blankemeyer also placed seventh in the high jump.<\/p>\n
Tow also ran a season best in the 3200-meter run, placing second in a time of 10:02, just missing the school record by one second.\u00a0He then won the 1600-meter run in a time of 4:34.<\/p>\n
Also placing for the Lancers were Michael Garay in the 100- and 200-meter dashes.\u00a0Logan Jewel in the 100.\u00a0The boys\u2019 4×800 relay placed second and the boys\u2019 4×100 relay placed fourth.<\/p>\n
Leading the girls was a second place finish by Hannah McCleery in the high jump, Ashton Bowersock placed fifth in the 800 in a career best time, and the girls\u2019 4×800-meter relay team placed for the Lancers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
