Waneta E. \u201cGranny\u201d Kochel, 88, of Defiance, died Monday, March 21, 2011, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.<\/p>\n
She was born April 23, 1922, in Hancock County, the daughter of the late Gail and Ethel (Williams) Sierer. On December 20, 1949, she married Ralph L. Kochel, who preceded her in death on March 12, 1989.<\/p>\n
Survivors include two daughters, Edna Bernath of Bryan and Mary (Sidney) McMillan of Defiance; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n
A daughter, Wanda Gail; a grandson; two sisters, Ellen Manson and Irene Justinger; three brothers, Harry, Dean and Dick Sierer; and a half-brother, Ray Rinebolt, also preceded her in death.<\/p>\n
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 25, at the Rock Church, Ohio 637 in Oakwood, with Pastor Art Hulett officiating. Burial will be in Hedges Cemetery in Paulding County.<\/strong><\/p>\n Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.<\/strong><\/p>\n Preferred memorials: Paulding Area Visiting Nurses Association.<\/p>\n
