Retiring employees, and their years of experience, include Marilyn Agler, 27 years; Tony Campbell, 24 years; Linda Downey, 33 years; Ellen Hemple, 20 years; Nancy Hennel, 25 years; Patricia Morris, 35 years; Carol Williams, 9 years; Dave Kinkle, 27 years; and Pat Woirol, 22 years.<\/p>\n<p>The board also accepted the resignation of Krista Hill as cafeteria dishroom worker, as well as Dye, who had been high school-junior high school principal for 14 years, effective July 31.<\/p>\n<p>New staff members hired include Jill Cockerell and W. McKaine Quartman as elementary intervention specialists, Kirstie Schroeder as an elementary\/high school intervention specialist, Jon Crusie as an fifth grade language arts and social studies teacher, Lindsey Grilliot as a sixth grade language arts and science teacher, Stephanie Kriegel as a third grade teacher; and Krista Seibert as the new vocational agriculture teacher.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->A number of contracts were also approved for current teaching and non-teaching staff members. Teaching contracts include the following: One-year limited contract \u2013 Anna Baker, instrumental music teacher; Kristen Harden, fourth grade teacher; two-year limited contract \u2013 Melissa Stork, elementary art teacher; Elizabeth Utz, third grade teacher; Kristy Ringwald, high school English teacher; three-year limited contract \u2013 Callie Coppus, high school math teacher; Kinsey Dobbelaere, junior high-high school art teacher; and Brett Hammons, second grade teacher.<\/p>\n<p>Non-teaching staff contracts are as follows: One-year limited contract \u2013 Denise Cramer, bus driver and kindergarten educational aide; two-year limited contract \u2013 Amy Dunlap, bus driver; continuing contract \u2013 Michael Hill, Alan Breece and Rebecca Matthews, bus drivers; and Lori Romes, custodian.<\/p>\n<p>Seasonal employees hired include Craig Staley as summer bus maintenance person and Sharon Brincefield and Lucy Rice, summer bus cleaning and maintenance, while Patti Cox, Kimberly Evans, and Tom Mayes were given summer school teaching contracts, and Elementary Principal Nita McKinney was hired as summer school supervisor.<\/p>\n<p>Sharon Gipe was given a contract as a substitute cook for the remainder of this school year.<\/p>\n<p>As is usual, a number of personal service contracts were non-renewed, effective the end of the 2013-2014 school year, while the following supplemental contracts were approved: Anna Baker, high school instrumental; Kristy Ringwald, yearbook; Deb Stetler, newspaper; Gary Nolan, Science Club advisor; Christine Doner, Spanish Club advisor; Kevin Losh, freshman class advisor; Jay Hoersten, Industrial Tech advisor; Stacie Korte, Swing Choir director; Nolan, Saturday School teacher; Losh, Saturday School substitute teacher; Tom Bryan, athletic director; Robbie Breese, assistant athletic director; Brett Hammons, boys\u2019 head basketball coach; Dan Williamson, girls\u2019 head basketball coach; Brad Doidge, assistant softball coach and girls golf coach; Matt Langdon, head track and cross country coach; and Sandra Dowdy, junior high track coach.<\/p>\n<p>Personal service contracts were approved for the following: Dianna Ashbaugh, public relations coordinator; Andy Breese, junior varsity boys\u2019 basketball coach; Daryl Dowdy, freshman boys\u2019 basketball coach; Seth Evans, eighth grade boys\u2019 basketball coach; Zach Profit, seventh grade boys\u2019 basketball coach; Al Arnold, assistant girls\u2019 basketball coach; Kevin Longstreth, head baseball coach; Chris Youtsey, assistant baseball coach; Kent McClure, softball coach; Ben Cowan, boys\u2019 track coach and junior high cross country coach; Curtis Miller, girls\u2019 track coach; Alison Hammons, junior high track coach; Curtis Miller, head wrestling coach; Steve Pardon, assistant wrestling coach; Daryl Dowdy, head boys\u2019 golf coach; Trina Langdon, girls\u2019 cross country coach; Danielle Profit, high school cheerleader advisor; and Kenzie Ray, junior high cheerleader advisor. Janahn Evans will also be the new varsity volleyball coach; Mark McCleery will coach girls\u2019 varsity soccer and Britt Munson, boys\u2019 varsity soccer.<\/p>\n<p>In other action, the board:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Approved the 2014 Title I program and granted a one-year supplemental extra duty contract to Nita McKinney as program coordinator.<\/li>\n<li>Authorized the cross country team to attend and participate in a camp at Hocking Hills from August 3-8 under the direction of Coach Matt Langdon and Assistant Coach Ben Cowan.<\/li>\n<li>Approved the fiscal year 2014 five-year forecast.<\/li>\n<li>Authorized the boys\u2019 basketball varsity and junior varsity teams to attend the Defiance Shoot-Out on June 12 under the direction of Coach Brett Hammons and his staff.<\/li>\n<li>Approved revised draft calendar No. 1 for the 2014-15 academic year calendar.<\/li>\n<li>Hired Tyson Thatcher as an unpaid volunteer girls\u2019 soccer coach.<\/li>\n<li>Approved a resolution opposing attempts to remove the \u201cthorough and efficient\u201d provision from the Ohio Constitution.<\/li>\n<li>Authorized Coach Dan Williamson and his staff to take the girls\u2019 basketball team to the Columbus Grove Shoot-Out on June 13, and to an overnight team camp at Wilmington College on July 7-8, and also to operate a girls\u2019 basketball camp on June 2-5.<\/li>\n<li>Approved a boys\u2019 basketball camp to be run by Coach Brett Hammons and his staff on June 9-13 in the high school and elementary gymnasiums.<\/li>\n<li>Renewed membership in the Ohio High School Athletic Association.<\/li>\n<li>Adopted a special praise and recognition resolution for Junior Class advisors Sandra Dowdy and Calli Coppus and to those who made the 2014 prom a success.<\/li>\n<li>Accepted a $200 donation from the Beta Deltz Chapter of Psi Iota Xi sorority to benefit the school libraries.<\/li>\n<li>Returned an advance of $1,800 from the Data Communications Fund to the General Fund.<\/li>\n<li>Approved a contract with Julian &amp; Grube Inc. to do a district Medicaid audit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Lincolnview Local Board of Education will be at 7 p.m. Monday, June 30, in the Neubrecht Lecture Hall.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DAVE MOSIER\/independent editor The Lincolnview Local Board of Education honored several retiring staff members, hired several new employees and also accepted the resignation of high school principal Kelly Dye during its May meeting on Tuesday.
