In fact, these violations were the second-highest cause of fatal crashes in 2013. That is why the Ohio State Highway Patrol is urging all motorists to take their time, ensure that cross traffic is stopped or clear and obey all traffic signs and signals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/osplogo.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2340\" alt=\"osplogo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/osplogo.gif\" width=\"121\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a>Failure to yield violations can be deadly &#8212; in 2013, 43,926 crashes in Ohio were caused by a driver failing to yield, killing 169 people and injuring 26,185. Young drivers, age 16-25, were at fault in 31 percent of these crashes. This is nearly twice as high as those aged 26-35 &#8212; with 16 percent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDrivers are urged to pay close attention to stop signs and signals when traversing Ohio\u2019s roadways,\u201d said Lt.
