On February 5, 1966, he married Nicholl \u201cNickie\u201d (Holaday) Brodbeck, who survives in Celina.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/American-Flag-for-obituaries-6-2011.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-8711\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" alt=\"American Flag for obituaries 6-2011\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/American-Flag-for-obituaries-6-2011.jpg\" width=\"125\" height=\"66\" \/><\/a>Other survivors include two children, Vernon (Carrie) Brodbeck of Chickasaw and Michelle (Gary) Sharp of Neptune; six grandchildren; and three siblings, Bing (Kathy) Schmidt of Celina, Michelyn (Danny) Phillips of Livingston, Tennessee, and Max Brodbeck of Montezuma.<\/p>\n<p>A brother, Hugh Brodbeck, also preceded him in death.<\/p>\n<p><b>Memorial services will be conducted at the convenience of the family.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>There will be no visitation.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Preferred memorials: Donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n<p>Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford is handling arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>Online condolences may be left at <a href=\"http:\/\/ketchamripley.com\">http:\/\/ketchamripley.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vernon Larry Brodbeck, 71, of Celina, died at 2:24 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at St. Rita\u2019s Medical Center in Lima, where he was a patient.
