<\/a>Some new events have been added to this year\u2019s program. The Dixie Cadillacs, a classic Rock and Country group, which will be performing from 1-5 p.m. on July 4 at the Gospel pavilion, while\u00a0Grace C Giggles (The Clown with a Heart) will be on hand from noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday to make all kinds of balloon animals and other items for the kids.<\/p>\n
A draft horse pull (sponsored by the Van Wert County Fair Board) will take place Friday at 7 p.m. in front of the grandstand.\u00a0Those who stay in their seats after the pull will have a good view of the Fourth of July fireworks.<\/p>\n
Other weekend daily events will include tractor and gas engine displays, saw milling, threshing, flea markets, crafts, barrel rides for kids, trading post, animal land and lots of good food.<\/p>\n
Specific day events on Thursday, July 3 (Senior Citizen Day), include antique auto racing, a car show with Fifties music, and Jess King Country Gospel.<\/p>\n
Friday, July 4, the quilt and needle art show\u00a0will open.\u00a0Antique car racing will be back on the track.\u00a0 Studio Live Fit will be doing Zumba.<\/p>\n
The kids can participate in the \u00a0old-fashioned cow milking and then head over to the kiddie pedal tractor pull.\u00a0 Kids, be sure to have mom and dad take a chance on the tractor used in the pull.\u00a0They might win it for you.<\/p>\n
There will also be tractor games for anyone interested and Blind Date will be performing in the evening.<\/p>\n
Saturday, July 5, the chain saw sculptor will be doing his thing.\u00a0The items he can carve out of a log will amaze people.\u00a0Attendees can again take a look at the unique quilt and art needle work on display, then stroll on down to the mule, donkey and miniature horse fun show.\u00a0One of those animals might even be in a cheerleader outfit.<\/p>\n
There will be another kiddie\u00a0pedal tractor pull and other games for the kids.\u00a0Even the adults can compete in an adult pedal tractor pull.\u00a0 Those who prefer regular motor driven tractors can drop down by the grandstand and see the antique tractor pull.\u00a0Attendees who get hungry can stop by and try the old-fashioned beans and cornbread.<\/p>\n
A Barney Fife (look-alike) will also be on the grounds, so be aware and avoid those handcuffs. Nancy and Company will be playing\u00a0some toe tapping music, followed by the Fiddle, Banjo and Harmonica Contest.\u00a0 Local talent will also be present and participating in the talent show, while Saturday activities will close with \u201cMemories of a King: Elvis Presley\u201d by Brent Cooper of Fort Wayne, Indiana.\u00a0Some of the chain saw sculptor\u2019s work will also be auctioned off during intermission of the Elvis show.<\/p>\n
Sunday, July 5 (free admission day), there will be church services with Jess King. This will be followed by a free will donation Ham and turkey dinner with all the fixins.\u00a0 At Noon there will be an auction of the items left from the trading post.<\/p>\n
Admission is $3 per person per day.\u00a0Children under 12 years of age are free.\u00a0Three-day passes are available for $7 per person.\u00a0 Grandstand events are all free except the special event draft horse pull sponsored by Van Wert County Fair board.\u00a0 There is a $4.00 charge at the grandstand for this event.<\/p>\n
