Tony Burkley\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Tony-Burkley-headshot-5-2014.jpg\" width=\"125\" height=\"192\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-52003\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">State Representative Tony Burkley<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>COLUMBUS &#8212; State Representative Tony Burkley (R-Payne) announced recently that he has been appointed to serve on this summer\u2019s Unemployment Compensation Debt &amp; Reducing Burdens on Ohio Businesses Study Committee.<\/p>\n<p>The committee will focus on the State of Ohio\u2019s Unemployment Trust Fund and the effects it\u2019s had on the state and the business community.\u00a0Topics of discussion include how to repay back the debt faster and what structural issues exist within the system that led to the insolvency of the fund.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAddressing our unemployment compensation debt is vital to maintaining fiscal responsibility in our state, Burkley said. I\u2019m grateful to Speaker Batchelder for this appointment and look forward to what is ahead as we travel Ohio.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The first hearing will be held August 5 in Room 121 at the Ohio Statehouse.
