The Van Wert County Board of Elections announces that absentee\/early voting for the May 3 Primary Election has started in the elections office.<\/p>\n
Anyone wanting to vote a Republican absent voter ballot may do so by stopping by the Election Board office located at 120 E. Main St., across from the Court House in the County Annex (c<\/a><\/strong>lick here<\/a><\/strong> for an absent voter ballot form).\u00a0 Office hours are 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The only Saturday that the Board of Elections office will be open for voting will be April 30, from 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.<\/p>\n To vote an absent voter ballot a person must be a registered voter and provide either the last four digits of their social security number or driver\u2019s license number (XX123456). If neither of these items is available, a copy of a current and valid photo ID (state ID card, government ID, etc.) may be used (the photo ID must show the name and address of the voter) or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check or other government document that shows the voter\u2019s name and current address.<\/p>\n Due to the fact there are only Republican candidates to vote on, voters should also state they want a Republican ballot.
