GROVER HILL — The Lincolnview varsity cross country teams competed in the Wayne Trace Invitational on Tuesday night in Grover Hill.<\/p>\n
The Lancer boys won the meet, scoring just 34 points and placing six runners in the top 14 of the race.\u00a0Bayley Tow won the race in a time of 16:37 and Alex Rodriguez placed third in 17:18.\u00a0 Also scoring for the varsity were Trevor Neate (eighth), Colton Snyder (10th), Tyler Brant (13th), and Tracey West (14th).<\/p>\n
\u201cWe fixed some of the things that we did not do well last Saturday,\u201d said Lincolnview Coach Matt Langdon.\u00a0\u201cI was very proud of how the boys responded to me challenging them.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis was a definite step forward and something to build on,\u201d Coach Langdon added.\u00a0\u201cBayley and Alex really looked good tonight and attacked the course.\u00a0 It was fun to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n
The girls placed sixth overall, but were not far out of taking home their first trophy of the season.\u00a0They were led by Anna Gorman, who placed 10th, and Abbie Enyart\u2019s 15th-place finish.\u00a0Rounding out the scoring was Alena Looser (23rd), Olivia Gorman (46th) and Trinity Welch (49th).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe girls missed their goal tonight of taking home a team trophy, but we are least learning what it means to be competitive,\u201d Coach Langdon said.\u00a0\u201cWe did some good things tonight and we just have to stay focused on improving each time that we race.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
