{"id":55108,"date":"2014-09-01T01:33:23","date_gmt":"2014-09-01T06:33:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=55108"},"modified":"2014-09-01T01:33:23","modified_gmt":"2014-09-01T06:33:23","slug":"tow-sets-record-as-lancers-win-cc-meet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2014\/09\/01\/tow-sets-record-as-lancers-win-cc-meet\/","title":{"rendered":"Tow sets record as Lancers win CC meet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Lincolnview cross county information<\/i><\/p>\n<p>COLUMBUS GROVE &#8212; The Lincolnview Lancer cross country teams competed in the Columbus Grove invitational on Saturday.\u00a0The boys\u2019 team took home the gray division championship, placing first ahead of the state-ranked host Bulldogs, and Minster.<\/p>\n<p>The Lancers placed six runners in the top 25 of the race, scoring 65 points to 96 for Grove and 102 for Minster.\u00a0Lincolnview was again led by a school-record-breaking performance by Bayley Tow.\u00a0Tow placed second overall in a time of 16:10, breaking the existing school record held by Jeff Snyder.\u00a0Tow was followed by teammates Alex Rodriguez, 10th (17:22); Trevor Neate, 16th (17:36); Tracey West, 18th (17:43); Tyler Brant, 19th (17:44); and Colton Snyder, 24th (17:54).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday was fun to watch,\u201d said Lincolnview Coach Matt Langdon. \u201cThe boys really attacked the second half of the course and moved up as the race wore on.\u00a0They found each other during the race and were able to create a nice pack towards the front of the race.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBayley had an amazing race setting the school record,\u201d Coach Langdon added. \u201cHe has worked unbelievably hard for this and I am very proud of him.\u00a0Now we have to get back to work this week and refocus our energy on the next race ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The girls\u2019 team placed 10th overall and were led by Abbie Enyart, who ran a career best time of 21:44 and placed 22nd overall.\u00a0 She was followed by Anna Gorman, 29th (22:10); Alena Looser, 60th (23:32); Trinity Welch, 79th (24:14); and Olivia Gorman, 103rd (25:36).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe girls are slowly making improvements as a team,\u201d Coach Langdon noted.\u00a0\u201cAbbie did a nice job today of leading and setting the pace from the front of the team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to get a little more toughness out of 4th through 7th positions and close the gap if we are going to have any team success,\u201d the coach added.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s a process; as long as we are improving, then we are going to be okay.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lincolnview cross county information COLUMBUS GROVE &#8212; The Lincolnview Lancer cross country teams competed in the Columbus Grove invitational on Saturday.\u00a0The boys\u2019 team took home the gray division championship, placing first ahead of the state-ranked host Bulldogs, and Minster.
