If elected during OSBA\u2019s statewide conference in November, he will become OSBA president in 2016, following his term as president-elect.<\/p>\n<p>Germann is also a member of the Vantage Career Center Board of Education, where he has served one year, and has served on the Lincolnview board for five years.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_55474\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-55474\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Eric-Germann-headshot-9-2014.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-55474 \" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" alt=\"Eric Germann\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Eric-Germann-headshot-9-2014.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"315\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-55474\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Eric Germann<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He also serves on the OSBA Board of Trustees, Executive Committee, Federal Relations Network and Legislative Platform Committee. Additional statewide assignments include OSBA\u2019s Board Member Cabinet and the association\u2019s VISA Review and Investment Review committees. He previously served on the association\u2019s Capital Conference Planning Task Force and Nominating Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Germann is also the OSBA Northwest Region immediate past president, has served on the region\u2019s executive committee for four years and was a member of the region\u2019s Arrangements and Hospitality Team.<\/p>\n<p>Germann earned the OSBA Master Board Member Award in 2013, a lifetime distinction, and has received three OSBA Awards of Achievement. The awards recognize board members\u2019 commitment to learning and leadership.<\/p>\n<p>He is a Van Wert resident, and has served as Lincolnview\u2019s board representative to numerous committees, including the District Technology Collaboration Committee and Negotiating Team, as well as working with local entities to facilitate economic development and tax policy.<\/p>\n<p>Germann is a senior hosting engineer with Newscycle Solutions. He is active in many community organizations, including past service on the Midwest Electric Community Connection Fund Board of Trustees. He is active in, and has served in the past as president of, the Middle Point Lions Club, and was a founding director of the Lima Regional Information Technology Alliance.<\/p>\n<p>He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Ohio Northern University and a master\u2019s degree in information and communication sciences from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.<\/p>\n<p>Germann and his wife, Karen, live in rural Van Wert and have five children and three grandchildren.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OSBA information COLUMBUS \u2013 Lincolnview Local Board of Education President Eric Germann was recently selected as the Ohio School Boards Association\u2019s (OSBA) 2015 president-elect nominee.
