Community Health Professionals has selected Tonya Schumm, R.N., of Rockford as the nursing supervisor for its Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center, 1155 Westwood Drive.<\/p>\n

Schumm has been a nurse with CHP for seven years, beginning at its Celina office before coming to the hospice center in 2009.<\/p>\n

\u201cCHP is a great company to work for,\u201d she said. \u201cThey care about their employees and my co-workers are like family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schumm says finds hospice care particularly worthwhile.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love hospice care because of the difference you make in people\u2019s lives,\u201d she said. \u201cIt is a very stressful time for patients and families and being able to make a difficult time a little easier is very rewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy goal is to guide staff in providing care to our patients and families and to continue to uphold the excellent reputation the center has in end-of-life care,\u201d Schumm added.<\/p>\n

Schumm is the mother of two children, Makenna and Mason.<\/p>\n

Community Health Professionals is a nonprofit agency with 10 offices providing home health and hospice services to patients and families throughout northwest and west-central Ohio.<\/p>\n
