(VWHS photos)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Special team awards were presented to the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cougar Award &#8212; Corey Clifton and Jacob Myers<\/li>\n<li>Claw Award &#8212; Jacob Hood<\/li>\n<li>Chairman of the Boards &#8212; Corey Clifton<\/li>\n<li>Pride Award\u00a0&#8212; Austin Fleming and Kirby Doidge<\/li>\n<li>Rookie of the Year &#8212; Reggie Phillips<\/li>\n<li>Captains Award &#8212; Corey Clifton and Austin Fleming<\/li>\n<li>WBL\u00a0Honors &#8212; Corey Clifton, First Team; Jacob Myers, Second Team; Jacob Hood, Honorable Mention.<\/li>\n<li>District 8 Coaches Association &#8212; Corey Clifton, First Team All District; Corey Clifton, West Team All Star.<\/li>\n<li>OHSBCA\u00a0Academic Award &#8212; Blake Doidge, Jacob Hood, Austin Fleming, Gold Award; Jack\u00a0Moonshower, Silver Award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Van Wert High School basketball cheerleaders were also honored at the awards recognition held recently.\u00a0Senior basketball players will be presented Senior Scrapbooks made by the cheerleaders to capture the memories of the 2010-11 season.<\/p>\n<p>Cheerleader varsity letter winners included the following:<\/p>\n<p>Third-year letter winners &#8212; Brooke Grieshaber, Lindsay Greve, and Amelia Wiseman; second-year letters &#8212; Briana Mercer,\u00a0Darci Dull and Sydney\u00a0Riethman; first year varsity letter &#8212; Millie Murphy.<\/p>\n<p>Special recognition was given to Brooke\u00a0Grieshaber and Briana Mercer, who were selected as Most Valuable Cheerleaders.
