{"id":58762,"date":"2014-12-17T08:05:29","date_gmt":"2014-12-17T13:05:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=58762"},"modified":"2014-12-17T08:05:29","modified_gmt":"2014-12-17T13:05:29","slug":"bowling-teams-donations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2014\/12\/17\/bowling-teams-donations\/","title":{"rendered":"Bowling teams donations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-58764\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" alt=\"VWHS bowling teams donation 12-2014\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/VWHS-bowling-teams-donation-12-2014.jpg\" width=\"545\" height=\"283\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>The Van Wert chapter of the Men&#8217;s USBC Bowling Association donated $500 to the local VWHS boys\u2019 and girls\u2019 bowling teams.\u00a0This year, VWHS has 29 bowlers on the boys and girls teams combined.\u00a0This is about three times the number of bowlers that have been participating in the program for the past several years.\u00a0Due to the large increase in numbers, there was a big need to help pay for new uniforms for the players.\u00a0Van Wert&#8217;s Youth chapter of the USBC Junior association also donated $100 to the boys\u2019 and girls\u2019 programs.\u00a0Girls\u2019 Coach Tammy Metzger was extremely pleased with the donations. &#8220;It&#8217;s great to see so many high schoolers interested in bowling and it&#8217;s awesome to have the support of our local USBC programs to help contribute to both teams,&#8221;\u00a0Metzger said.
