VWHS swim team information<\/i><\/p>\n
The Van Wert High School boys and girls swimming teams hosted Coldwater and Versailles in a double dual meet at the Van Wert YMCA. The Cougar boys dominated the pool and defeated both visiting teams.\u00a0 The VWHS girls were victorious against Coldwater, but lost to Versailles.<\/p>\n
The boys defeated Coldwater 75-7 and Versailles 54-40. The Cougar girls defeated Coldwater 49-44, but lost to Versailles by a score of 21-72.<\/p>\n
Individual girls who earned a first place finish included Peyton Fleming (200-meter individual medley), Hannah Stemen (200-meter freestyle and 100-meter freestyle), Haley Richardson (400-meter freestyle)aley Richardson (400-mrtH and Bethany Fast (50 meter freestyle).<\/p>\n
Boys receiving first place included Cade Fleming (200-meter freestyle and 100-meter freestyle), Tyler Rex (200 meter individual medley), Sam Easley (50-meter freestyle and 400-meter freestyle), Josh Overholt (100-meter breaststroke) and Kory Schlatter (100-meter backstroke and 100-meter butterfly).<\/p>\n
Five Cougar relays finished first as well: 200-meter medley boys (Sam Easley, Josh Overholt, Tyler Rex, Nathan Ireland); 200-meter freestyle: boys (Josh Overholt, Nathan Ireland, Cade Fleming, Tyler Rex) and girls Hannah (Stemen, Katie Trittschuh, Bethany Fast, Peyton Fleming); 400-meter freestyle: boys (Sam Easley, Daymeon Ladd, Nathan Ireland, Cade Fleming) and girls (Mackenzie Agler, Katie Trittschuh, Peyton Fleming, Hannah Stemen).<\/p>\n
The Cougars will travel Thursday to the Wapakoneta YMCA to take on Wapak and Bellefontaine.<\/p>\n
