(Photo submitted.)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>By Rex Dolby<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Seventeen members and guests enjoyed the Van Wert Area&#8217;s Photography Club&#8217;s Christmas Dinner, held Thursday, Dec. 11, in the Van Wert County Historical Society&#8217;s Clark Mansion, which was\u00a0built in 1895. \u00a0Located\u00a0at 602 N. Washington St., it is sometimes known as the &#8220;House of Seven Oaks&#8221;.\u00a0 The stately mansion was decorated for Christmas, complete with a lighted tree and soft Christmas music playing in the background.<\/p>\n<p>An additional treat greeted any guest who\u00a0entered through the kitchen door because of the all the mouth-watering aromas\u00a0drifting from the meal being prepared by Jeanne Zeigler and her capable helpers.\u00a0 By 6 p.m. everyone was seated\u00a0around two tables in the mansion&#8217;s dining room.\u00a0 Following grace, all were treated to a flavorful ham dinner, salad and dessert, liberally sprinkled with good conversation.\u00a0 We greatly appreciate all the hospitality and hard work by the Van Wert County Historical Society members in providing such a good meal and place to meet.<\/p>\n<p>When the meal was finished,\u00a0the group\u00a0moved to the annex\u00a0 where museum members had set up chairs and a table for\u00a0the business portion of the meeting.\u00a0 Results of the meeting and the selection of the\u00a0best print and slide of the year will be reported next week.<b><\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Rex Dolby Seventeen members and guests enjoyed the Van Wert Area&#8217;s Photography Club&#8217;s Christmas Dinner, held Thursday, Dec. 11, in the Van Wert County Historical Society&#8217;s Clark Mansion, which was\u00a0built in 1895. \u00a0Located\u00a0at 602 N.
