{"id":58910,"date":"2014-12-20T07:31:21","date_gmt":"2014-12-20T12:31:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=58910"},"modified":"2014-12-20T07:31:21","modified_gmt":"2014-12-20T12:31:21","slug":"attorney-general-attends-new-bci-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2014\/12\/20\/attorney-general-attends-new-bci-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Attorney general attends new BCI school"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Ohio Attorney General\u2019s information<\/i><\/p>\n<p>SPRINGFIELD &#8212; Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine participated in the new BCI Science School Friday with fourth graders at Perrin Woods Elementary School in Springfield, as they did hands-on science experiments with BCI Forensic Scientists.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52811\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52811\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-52811 \" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" alt=\"Attorney General Mike DeWine\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Mike-DeWine-headshot-200px-6-2014.jpg\" width=\"160\" height=\"251\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-52811\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Attorney General Mike DeWine<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Students performed various color tests, just like scientists use in the lab to detect blood and saliva in criminal investigations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBCI Science School was created to help expose young students in our\u00a0state to the practical applications of science,\u201d said Attorney General DeWine. \u201cI want kids to dream big about their future careers, including thinking about\u00a0a career in science.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is the third day for BCI Science School at Perrin Woods Elementary School.\u00a0Monday, students learned about crime scene agents and how they use math and science every time they document and investigate a crime scene.<\/p>\n<p>For example, agents measure points between pieces of evidence, so that\u2019s what the kids experienced.
