Van Wert independent\/CP Court information<\/i><\/p>\n

A Van Wert man is headed for a term at the Western Ohio Regional Treatment and Habilitation (WORTH) Center in Lima on drug-related charges after hearings held Monday in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.<\/p>\n

Alex Chorvas, 19, of Van Wert, was sentenced on two separate cases Wednesday by Judge Charles D. Steele. In the first case, Chorvas was given three years of community control, to include the WORTH Center stay, on two counts of attempted corruption of another with drugs, each a fourth-degree felony offense. He also had his driver\u2019s license suspended for six months.<\/p>\n

In the second case, Chorvas was given 180 days in jail on a charge of attempted breaking and entering, a misdemeanor of the first degree. That sentence is to run concurrently with the WORTH Center stay.<\/p>\n

Also sentenced on Monday was Ruby Hollingsworth, 56, of Van Wert, who was given a year of community control on three counts of trafficking in drugs, all fourth-degree felonies. She also received a six-month driver\u2019s license suspension.<\/p>\n

Amber Lloyd, 37, of Van Wert, changed her plea from not guilty to guilty on a charge of attempted theft from the elderly, a felony of the fourth degree (reduced from theft from the elderly, a third-degree felony). The then requested, and was granted, treatment in lieu of conviction and her case was stayed, pending the successful completion of a substance abuse treatment program.<\/p>\n

James Reynolds, 35, of Continental, was also scheduled for sentencing on Monday but instead requested that he be allowed to withdraw his guilty plea. A hearing was scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015, on the motion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
