(VW independent file photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Thirteen contestants representing seven Van Wert County schools, in grades 4-8, will compete for the honor of representing the county in the Journal-Gazette Regional Spelling Bee in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on March 7.<\/p>\n<p>Individual school champions are:<br \/>\nCrestview Elementary &#8212; Hayden Tomlinson, fifth grade; Carson Kreischer, sixth grade.<br \/>\nCrestview Middle School &#8212; Trinity Snyder, seventh grade; Sonny Chorvas, eighth grade.<br \/>\nLincolnview Elementary &#8212; Una VanWynsberghe, fifth grade; Dylann Carey, sixth grade.<\/p>\n<p>Lincolnview Junior High &#8212; Kirsten Stemen, seventh grade; Kylee Mongold, eighth grade.<br \/>\nSt. Mary of the Assumption School &#8212; Annie Renner, fourth grade.<br \/>\nVan Wert Elementary &#8212; KeAndre Blythe, fifth grade.<br \/>\nVan Wert Middle School &#8212; Grace Doctor, sixth grade; Angel Haller, seventh grade, Joey Schaufelberger, eighth grade.<\/p>\n<p>Doug Grooms of Van Wert is the pronouncer for the Spelling Bee.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Judges for the contest are Crestview Program Services Director Keith Rydell, Lincolnview Elementary Principal Nita McKinney, and Sarah White, a guidance counselor at Van Wert Middle School.<\/p>\n<p>Becky Diglia, curriculum coordinator for the Western Buckeye ESC, will preside as emcee of the event, while Lincolnview Marsh School Principal Robbie Breese is in charge of the physical set-up of the competition.<\/p>\n<p>Van Wert Federal Savings Bank is sponsoring the awards for the event, which include cash awards and plaques for the top three finishers and certificates of recognition for all participants.<\/p>\n<p>Contestants are reminded to report to the Marsh Foundation School Library at 6:30 p.m. on February 5.<\/p>\n<p>For additional information, contact Freeman at the Western Buckeye ESC by calling 419.399.4711, extension 33, or by emailing her at <a href=\"mailto:sfreeman@wb.noacsc.org\">sfreeman@wb.noacsc.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Western Buckeye ESC information Sandra Freeman, coordinator for Gifted Services for the Western Buckeye Educational Service Center, has announced that the 2015 Journal-Gazette Van Wert County Spelling Bee is scheduled for Thursday, February 5, at 7 p.m. in the Marsh Foundation School auditorium.
