The Van Wert boys took fifth place, while the girls finished eighth.<\/p>\n<p>Wapakoneta took first place in both the boys\u2019 and girls\u2019 championships, with Lima Shawnee runner-up for the boys and Ottawa-Glandorf runner-up in the girls\u2019 events. Other schools participating (in order of finish in the boys\u2019 standings) were Celina, Ottawa-Glandorf, Defiance, Elida, Kenton, Lima Bath, and St Marys.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights of the boys\u2019 day included Sam Easley earning a sixth place finish in the 100-yard butterfly. Easley also earned a ninth place finish in the 200-yard freestyle.<\/p>\n<p>Also scoring for the Cougars were Kory Schlatter in the 500-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke, Dalton Heppeard in the 200-yard freestyle, Josh Overholt in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke, Nathan Ireland in the 100-yard freestyle, Tyler Rex in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle, and Cade Fleming in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke.<\/p>\n<p>The girls scored in all but one event. Scoring for the Lady Cougars were Hannah Stemen in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke, Katie Trittschuh in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke, Trittschuh in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke, Peyton Fleming in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke, Meagan Jacobs in the 500-yard freestyle, Madison Turnwald in the 100-yard freestyle, Emma Verville in the 100-yard backstroke, and Bethany Fast in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke.<\/p>\n<p>Two boys\u2019 relay teams also scored. The best finishes were fourth place by the 200-yard freestyle relay (Easley, Fleming, Overholt and Rex), and fifth in the 200-yard medley relay (Rex, Fleming, Easley, Overholt).<\/p>\n<p>All three girls\u2019 relay teams scored. The best finish was recorded by the 400-yard freestyle, with Trittschuh, Turnwald, Fleming, and Stemen taking fifth place.
