With the winter weather not giving up yet, I feel Pat Boone may feel more like singing \u201cLove Letters in the Snow\u201d rather than \u201cLove Letters in the Sand.\u201d\u00a0 Of course the latter is one of Pat Boone\u2019s biggest hit songs and one of the top love songs of all time.<\/p>\n
Pat Boone will whisk into Van Wert this Sunday for a 3 p.m. concert of \u201cMusic & Memories\u201d at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center.\u00a0A few tickets remain if you want to share in a couple hours of music and memories with one of America\u2019s legendary singers, actors, and TV men.\u00a0 I am told we will share in memories from the past as we get a glimpse and first-hand account of the famous Boone family and the many famous singers and entertainers who crossed paths with them.\u00a0Video and, of course, songs Pat will sing, will certainly take the audience back to the days of its youth.\u00a0The younger audience members will learn and experience entertainment and gain a grand historical perspective.<\/p>\n
When Pat Boone\u2019s daughter, Debby, visited Van Wert in 2013 as part of our Community Concert Series too, she mentioned to her father how much she enjoyed our town and performing in the Niswonger for an appreciative and enjoyable audience.\u00a0So, when we asked her father to perform, he was happy to oblige.\u00a0I\u2019m sure we will show him as much love and appreciation as we did his daughter.<\/p>\n
The following week brings a contrasting concert to the Niswonger.\u00a0On Saturday, March 14, the contemporary Christian band Newsboys will be in town to rock the house.\u00a0Many are familiar with them from last year\u2019s hit movie, God is Not Dead<\/i>, which is one of their famous hit songs, too.\u00a0The house will be filled with young kids who are loyal Newsboys fans and everyone should expect a \u201chigh volume\u201d concert at times!\u00a0 So beware!<\/p>\n
There are many fans still wanting tickets for this sold-out concert at the Niswonger, so it shouldn\u2019t be any problem selling your ticket if you think this isn\u2019t \u201cyour bag.\u201d\u00a0 Appearing with the Newsboys will also be special guests Finding Favour, Audio Adrenaline and newcomer John Tibbs.<\/p>\n
Looking much ahead, we will be announcing the Fountain Park Summer Music Series line-up real soon.\u00a0 It will feature seven concerts and all but one will be new to the park.\u00a0Six new bands coming from all over the country will be filling the outdoors with fun music this summer.\u00a0Remember, non-profit organizations, contact The Van Wert County Foundation office at 419.238.1743 if you are interested in being considered to serve food with one of these concerts this summer.\u00a0We need the name of your organization, a contact person, phone number and email address.\u00a0I don\u2019t know about you, but I can\u2019t wait for the summer!<\/p>\n
