The Lady Knights battled hard and showed resiliency, but came up short with a score of 47-48. Senior Lindsey Motyka said, “Although the season didn’t end the way we wanted to, we still had a great season. Going undefeated during the regular season and winning a conference championship made the season very enjoyable. This group of girls is very special and I’ll always remember this team.”

The boys’ basketball team played Leipsic last Friday night in sectional finals at Van Wert. The Knights started out strong, and took the game all the way to the last possession. The Knights showed heart as they faced an uphill battle against Leipsic with three of the Knight starters out due to injury. The Knights lost by a score of 47-48. Senior Nate Owens said, “I’m very proud of how hard we battled against Leipsic. Unfortunately we came out on the short end, but we put up a good fight and had a chance to win at the end of the game.”

With the boys’ basketball team being done, the baseball players that play basketball have now started practicing with the rest of the team. With four returning starters from last year’s state team and many role players returning from that team, the Knights have been hard at work in attempting to make a trip to Columbus for the third straight year. Senior Justin Overmyer said, “We have a lot of talent coming back from last year. Also we know that the newcomers will step up and make plays when they have to. It should be an exciting year for us as we prepare for another historic season for Crestview baseball.”

Morale is high as spring sports prepare for the spring season here at Crestview season.
