Climbing on the outdoor playground equipment \u2026 making Play-Doh\u2122 \u2026 exploring worms \u2026 going to the media center to hear one of Mrs. Knodel\u2019s stories, or going down to the Buildings and Grounds lab to visit its small house maze.<\/p>\n

These are just a few of the fun activities going on for Vantage preschoolers. The children will experience other hands-on activities in language arts, math, kindergarten readiness, literature, and social skills.<\/p>\n

Interested in sending a preschooler to Vantage?\u00a0 Registration is now underway for the 2015-2016 school year. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.\u00a0 There are two options for preschool classes this year. For both options, children must have reached the age of 3 by August 1. There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee, which can be paid when you come in to complete the application.\u00a0 All supplies and field trips are included in fees.<\/p>\n

High school juniors and seniors who are preparing for a career in early childhood education work directly with the preschoolers by planning and conducting the lessons.\u00a0 A major benefit for the children who attend the Vantage Preschool is the very low staff-child ratio. There is usually one high school \u201cteacher\u201d to every one or two preschoolers, supervised by the directors. The high school students also receive additional training in first aid, CPR, child abuse, and common childhood illnesses.<\/p>\n

The traditional half-day preschool session is the most popular choice.\u00a0 The morning preschool session meets Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 until 10:50 a.m., and is taught by Marcia Osenga, Donna Myers and the senior Early Childhood students. This session is for 3-5 year old children.<\/p>\n

The full day option is available from 8:30 a.m.-2:20 p.m., Monday through Thursday. This is a pre-kindergarten class for 4- and 5-year-olds.\u00a0 Preschoolers pack their lunch. Vantage Preschool provides developmentally appropriate activities for the total development of children ages 3- through 5 years old using the Early Learning Ohio Standards.<\/p>\n
