VW Area Community Concert Band information<\/i><\/p>\n

On Monday, April 20, the Van Wert Area Community Concert Band will begin rehearsals for the upcoming concert season.<\/p>\n

Rehearsals are held each Monday in the new Van Wert High School band room, located off Ohio 118, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Membership in the band is open to anyone wanting to play an instrument in a concert band. Current members vary in age, and playing ability, but have the common interest of performing and making great band music.<\/p>\n

Current members come from Van Wert, Lima, Delphos, Convoy, Payne, Chattanooga, Middle Point, Decatur and Rockford. It truly is a Van Wert area band.<\/p>\n

Retired Parkway band director Richard Sherrick directs the band, which has as its goals to present a variety of music that is both musically enjoyable to the listener and challenging to the performer.<\/p>\n
