{"id":64730,"date":"2015-06-10T07:44:39","date_gmt":"2015-06-10T12:44:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=64730"},"modified":"2015-06-10T07:44:39","modified_gmt":"2015-06-10T12:44:39","slug":"paulding-teen-dies-in-1-vehicle-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2015\/06\/10\/paulding-teen-dies-in-1-vehicle-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"Paulding teen dies in 1-vehicle accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Ohio State Highway Patrol information<\/i><\/p>\n<p>CRANE TOWNSHIP &#8212; A Paulding teenager died Tuesday in a one-vehicle crash that occurred on U.S. 127, near Ohio 111, in Paulding County.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/osplogo.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2340\" alt=\"osplogo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/osplogo.gif\" width=\"121\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a>According to investigators from the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Skyler D. Huth, 18, was northbound on U.S. 127 at approximately 7:39 a.m. Tuesday when his 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck veered off the left side of the highway. The pickup struck a power pole and then a tree and Huth, who sustained fatal injuries, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Paulding County Coroner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>The highway was closed for several hours to clean up the crash scene. Huth was not wearing a seatbelt, while alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash.<\/p>\n<p>The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Paulding County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Paulding Fire and EMS, Gideon\u2019s Towing, AEP and the Ohio Department of Transportation.<\/p>\n<p>The crash remains under investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ohio State Highway Patrol information CRANE TOWNSHIP &#8212; A Paulding teenager died Tuesday in a one-vehicle crash that occurred on U.S. 127, near Ohio 111, in Paulding County.
