HAVILAND — The Lincolnview track teams competed at the Wayne Trace Invitational on Friday night.<\/p>\n
Despite the wind, rain, and cold, the Lancers were able to put together a great meet.\u00a0 Kaylee Thatcher was named the girls’ meet MVP by winning the 100-meter hurdles, placing second\u00a0in the 300-meter hurdles, and leading off the 4×100-meter relay that placed third.\u00a0\u00a0 The girls team was not able to catch Notre Dame Academy or Tinora, but placed third\u00a0overall in the meet with 73 points.<\/p>\n
Other event winners for the girls were freshmen Tori Abdul in the 200-meter dash and Crystal Protsman in the long jump.\u00a0 Casey Patterson placed third\u00a0in the 200-meter dash and fourth\u00a0in the 100-meter dash.\u00a0 Deneah Durst was second\u00a0in the shot put.\u00a0 The 4×100-meter and 4×200-meter relay teams both placed third\u00a0and the 4×800-meter relay team was the fourth\u00a0fastest in the meet.<\/p>\n
The boys were led by Mac King\u2019s first place finish in the 300-meter hurdles.\u00a0 Austin Treesh placed second\u00a0in the long jump.\u00a0 Wes Collins placed third\u00a0in the shot put.\u00a0 Jack Frank placed sixth\u00a0in the 400-meter dash, while Doug Hicks was sixth\u00a0in the 300 hurdles and Tyler Kraner placed sixth\u00a0in the high jump.\u00a0 Ben Bilimek finished in fifth place\u00a0in the 800-meter run.\u00a0 The 4×200 relay team was third\u00a0and the 4×400-meter relay squad was the third\u00a0fastest in the meet.<\/p>\n
\u201cBoth teams really responded under the conditions and competed with great intensity,” said Lincolnview Coach Matt Langdon. ”\u00a0I really could not have asked more of them and this is definitely a great sign moving forward.<\/p>\n
