Members of the Van Wert Area Photography Club gathered at the front of the courthouse Thursday, July 9, for a downtown photo shoot.\u00a0 Rain earlier in the day made it unlikely that the event would take place, but a brief break in the system made it\u00a0possible. As early comers waited for others to arrive, they took the time to observe the courthouse from\u00a0positions that they seldom or never were in before.\u00a0 Since there has been a new paint job on the trim, a number of interesting shots were taken.<\/p>\n

Once the group was complete, the photographers scattered in ones\u00a0and twos or more up and down the street.\u00a0 Architectural details on store fronts, window displays, and items along the street became prime targets.\u00a0 The group had just 45 minutes to shoot before the rain began again.<\/p>\n

Some of the pictures have been posted on Facebook already and others will no doubt follow.\u00a0 It will be interesting to see how different people captured the same scene, and what caught only one photographer’s eye when the pictures are compared at the next meeting, which will be Thursday, August 13, at 7 p.m. at 114 S. Race St.<\/p>\n
