CONVOY — The Crestview football team stayed with Hicksville for most of the first half, but the Aces took the starch out of Knights with a touchdown in the final 30 seconds of the half and went on to win 41-14 Friday in a non-conference grid contest played at Crestview.<\/p>\n

Hicksville scored first with 1:38 remaining in the first quarter when Dillon Fuller found running room at the Knights\u2019 5-yard-line and took into the end zone for a 6-0 lead. The point-after was no good and the Aces were ahead 6-0.<\/p>\n

Crestview evened the score at 6-all at the 8:21 mark of the second stanza when Jordan Miller rambled 28 yards for a TD, with Miller also running in the two-point conversion for an 8-6 lead over Hicksville.<\/p>\n

The Aces took the lead back on a 2-yard Jacob Greer touchdown run with 6 minutes remaining in the first half to go up 12-8, but Crestview again scored, this time on a 19-yard Miller run with 1:06 remaining in the half. The PAT failed, but the Knights were again in the lead, 14-12, and were hoping to take that lead into the locker room at halftime.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t happen, though. Hicksville quarterback found Payton Tunis on a 50-yard touchdown run that gave the Aces a third TD in the first half. Fuller ran in the two-point conversion and Hicksville led 20-14 at the half.<\/p>\n

The Knights would not score again, while the Aces put together three more scoring runs in the third period to run away with the contest, 41-14.<\/p>\n

The first score came on an 11-yard run by Crall with 9:27 left in the third quarter. Salvador Alvalos ran for the two-point conversion and Hicksville led 28-14.<\/p>\n

Crall next found Mason Hostetler for a 58-yard scoring strike just 22 seconds later, while Crall ran in the final score of the night from the Crestview 18-yard-line with 2:10 remaining in the third period.<\/p>\n

Miller led Crestview in rushing with 128 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries, an average of 7.1 yards per carry.<\/p>\n

Fuller was the workhorse for the Aces, garnering 145 yards and a TD on 27 carries. Crall added 75 yards and two scores on 18 carries, while Crestview\u2019s Payton Knittle ran for 61 yards on three carries.<\/p>\n

Crall was 7 for 9 passing with 178 yards and two touchdowns, while the Knights\u2019 Dylan Grandstaff completed just 5 of 17 pass attempts for 46 yards, no TDs and one interception.<\/p>\n

The Knights are now 1-1 on the year.<\/p>\n
