<\/a>During lunch, the United Way will take a look back at the past year and share the goals of the upcoming Day of Caring blood drive, food drive and the 2015 campaign.\u00a0The pacesetter for this year is Van Wert County Hospital, led by hospital chairs Jenny Helt, Mia Keirns and Ellen Rager.<\/p>\n
Van Wert County Hospital is striving to raise $10,000 from its employees to donate to the United Way of Van Wert County.\u00a0One fundraising event the hospital is sponsoring is a cash battle between alumni and school supporters who are currently employed by the hospital.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are dedicated to helping those most in need; hundreds of our neighbors, friends and family depend on the social service programs that the United Way of Van Wert County provides,\u201d said Jenny Helt, director of case management at Van Wert County Hospital.\u00a0\u201cWhen you donate to United Way, you make a real difference in people\u2019s lives.\u00a0I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who is donating to the campaign this year.\u201d<\/p>\n
Special guest speaker will be State Representative Tony Burkley. Rep. Burkley is serving his second term in the Ohio House and represents the 82ndDistrict, which includes Defiance, Paulding and Van Wert counties, as well as part of Auglaize County. Prior to joining the House, Burkley served 16 years in county government, including four terms as Paulding County commissioner. He also has more than 40 years of private sector experience in his family\u2019s small businesses. Burkley and his wife, Nancy, have been married for over 40 years and reside in Payne.<\/p>\n
