The Van Wert County Heart Land Patriots will meet Tuesday, September 15, at 7 p.m. in the Fireside Room at Trinity Friends Church, 605 N. Franklin St. in Van Wert.<\/p>\n
Tuesday evening\u2019s meeting will serve as the annual fall candidates\u2019 night, and will feature Van Wert city\u2019s two mayoral candidates, Republican Jerry Mazur and independent candidate Joe Jared.<\/p>\n
Both candidates will be given ample time to outline their agenda for the city if elected, and be available to answer questions from those in attendance.\u00a0The candidates have differing ideas on how the city should be governed, so a question-and-answer session following each presentation should be interesting.<\/p>\n
In addition, the Patriots will hear a report on another successful year of distributing information and engaging encounters with voters, not only from Van Wert County, but around the state and nation, at the group\u2019s information booth at the Van Wert County Fair.<\/p>\n
Hundreds of pages of literature and many copies of the U.S. Constitution were distributed, as well as registering several new voters for the November 3 general election.<\/p>\n
