{"id":68015,"date":"2015-09-17T07:44:27","date_gmt":"2015-09-17T12:44:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=68015"},"modified":"2015-09-17T07:44:27","modified_gmt":"2015-09-17T12:44:27","slug":"8-appear-in-county-common-pleas-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2015\/09\/17\/8-appear-in-county-common-pleas-court\/","title":{"rendered":"8 appear in County Common Pleas Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>DAVE MOSIER\/<\/b><i>independent editor<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Eight people appeared Wednesday in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court on a variety of charges.<\/p>\n<p>David Boff Jr., 22, of Van Wert, entered a plea of not guilty to a grand jury indictment charging him with one count of rape, a first-degree felony, and two counts of gross sexual imposition, each a felony of the third degree. No bond was set since Boff is currently in prison on an unrelated charge, but Judge Martin Burchfield scheduled a pretrial conference for 8 a.m. Wednesday, September 30.<\/p>\n<p>Three people were sentenced on Wednesday. They include:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Court-artwork-12-2013-copy.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-45994\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"MGN Online graphic\" alt=\"Court artwork 12-2013 copy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Court-artwork-12-2013-copy.jpg\" width=\"264\" height=\"204\" \/><\/a>Melissa Frasl, 34, of Delphos, was given five years of community control on a charge of domestic violence, a felony of the fourth degree.<\/p>\n<p>Tristan Boaz, 24, of Van Wert, received a five-year community control sentence, which also included up to six months in the Western Ohio Regional Treatment and Habilitation (WORTH) Center in Lima, on a fifth-degree felony charge of possession of heroin.<\/p>\n<p>Cody Teman, 31, of Delphos, was given five years community control, including up to six months in the WORTH Center, on a charge of trafficking in cocaine, a felony of the fifth degree. His driver\u2019s license was also suspended for six months and he was ordered to forfeit a Jeep vehicle that was used in commission of the offense.<\/p>\n<p>Two people also appeared before Judge Burchfield on bond violation charges.<\/p>\n<p>Drew Kenny, 22, of Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond by failing to appear for a court hearing. He was ordered held on a $1,000 cash bond and a pretrial conference was scheduled for 8 a.m. Wednesday, September 23.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->David Seibert, 22, of Van Wert, also admitted to violating his bond by failing to report to the probation office. His bond was reset at $500 cash and a pretrial conference scheduled for 8 a.m. September 30.<\/p>\n<p>Two people also appeared in front County Probate-Juvenile Court Judge Kevin Taylor for violating either their probation or work release term.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Seibert, 28, of Van Wert, denied violating his probation and a hearing was scheduled on the allegation for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 17.<\/p>\n<p>Aaron Joseph, 27, of Van Wert, requested a public defender when he appeared for a hearing on a work release violation.
