Bernard \u201cBennie\u201d Beckman, 94, of Delphos, died Monday, September 21, 2015, at St. Rita\u2019s Medical Center in Lima.<\/p>\n
He was born March 3, 1931, in Van Wert County, the son of Joseph M. and Cecelia (Brockhaus) Beckman, who both preceded him in death. On June 10, 1967, he married Mary Lou (Steiner) Beckman, who survives in Delphos.<\/p>\n
Other survivors include a son, Michael J. Beckman of Delphos; one daughter, Rhonda (Rod) Hegemeier of Wapakoneta; a grandchild; two stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Doris Sager of Glandorf and Alice Schroeder of Leipsic.<\/p>\n
A stepgrandson; a brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Alma Beckman; one sister, Sister Janett Beckman; and two brothers-in-law, Donald \u201cSmokey\u201d Schroeder and Leon Sager, also preceded him in death.<\/p>\n
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 24, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Daniel Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in St. John\u2019s Cemetery in Delphos.<\/b><\/p>\n
Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a Knights of Columbus Rosary service will be held at 7 that evening, and a parish wake will follow at 7:30 p.m.<\/b><\/p>\n
