DELPHOS — The Lincolnview boys\u2019 golf team has broken or tied several records in the past week following wins over the weekend and at a Northwest Conference quad golf match held at Delphos Country Club on Monday.<\/p>\n
The Lancers won the match with a team score of 170, nine strokes better than Allen East, which edged Lincolnview 215-225 for the Lancers’ only loss this season at a 10-team weekend tournament. Spencerville was third with a team score of 194, while Delphos Jefferson finished fourth with a score of 216.<\/p>\n
Joshah Rager, who was match medalist on Monday with a nine-hole score of 38, broke his own 18-hole record score of 68 with a 64 on Saturday at the Antwerp Golf Tournament, while also tying the low 9-hole score of 34 first set by Kevin Price in 2000 in a recent match. Rager also broke his own season average low of 37.6 with a 36.0 this season.<\/p>\n
The team broke its season wins record of 63 set in 2014 with 67 this year (and counting) and also broke the 1979 team\u2019s winning percentage record of .877 with a 95 percent\u00a0 (and counting) season winning percentage this year.<\/p>\n
The team also has the best winning record (16-0), breaking the 13-1 record set in 1987; best non-tournament record with a 29-0 record this year, breaking a 28-3 record set in 1997; and lowest team average of 162, which breaks a record of 163.6 set by a Lancer team in 1998.<\/p>\n
Lincolnview players this year include Rager, a junior; senior Derek Youtsey; and freshmen Ryan Moody, Reece Farmer, Jaden Youtsey and Braden Evans.<\/p>\n
