Wolfrum won the boys&#8217; race, while Lauzenheiser was eighth.<\/strong> <em>(Bob Barnes\/Van Wert independent)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Cougar Calahan Wolfrum (16:52) and Cade Fleming (17:14) ran to a 1-2 finish in the big-school boys\u2019 race, with Van Wert\u2019s Thane Cowan sixth in 17:33, Dylan Lautzenheiser eighth in 17:45 and Stephan Hamblet 13th in a time of 17:57.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Cougars were second by 12 points to Liberty-Benton in the big-school girls\u2019 race, with Van Wert finishing with 78 points to the Lady Eagles\u2019 66 points. Meghan Bartel of Liberty-Benton won the race in a time of 19:33 and the next two finishers were also Lady Eagles.<\/p>\n<p>Chloee Gamble was the Cougars\u2019 top finisher in seventh place in a time of 20:46, while Natalie Riethman finished 10th in 21:09, Julia Springer was 18th in 21:40 and Sierra Shaffer 20th in 21:45.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am really proud of how well both the girls and boys ran today and how this team is competing to win each and every race,\u201d said Van Wert Coach Kim Laudick.<\/p>\n<p>Both Lancer teams took home the championship trophy, with the Lancer boys, ranked No. 10 in the state, edging a tough Minster team by just five points, 77-82.<\/p>\n<p>Trevor Neate was Lincolnview\u2019s top finisher in fifth place (17:23), while Austin Elick was sixth (17:27), Karter Tow was 15th (17:55) and Alek Bowersock 19th (17:58).<\/p>\n<p>Crestview\u2019s Adam Saylor finished 18th (17:57).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_68350\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-68350\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/VWCH-CC-Meet-9-26-15-Bowen.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-68350 \" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" alt=\"Crestview's Ashley Bowen (165) was the top local girl runner, finishing fifth in the Blue Division girls' race. (Bob Barnes\/Van Wert independent)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/VWCH-CC-Meet-9-26-15-Bowen.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"395\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-68350\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Crestview&#8217;s Ashley Bowen (165) was the top local girl runner, finishing fifth in the Blue Division girls&#8217; race.<\/strong> <em>(Bob Barnes\/Van Wert independent)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The No. 17-ranked Lady Lancers beat out New Bremen 56-67, while the Lady Knights of Crestview came in sixth with 157 points.<\/p>\n<p>Anna Gorman was the Lady Lancers\u2019 top runner in sixth place (20:54), while Brayden Langdon was 10th (21:20), Rylee Byrne 13th (21:40), Abbie Enyart 16th (21:50), Madeline Snyder 20th (22:22), and Alena Looser 21st (22:31).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was obviously a good day for both teams; to win both races on our home course in front of our fans and student body was exciting,\u201d said Lincolnview Coach Matt Langdon. \u201cWe did some good things on the course, but still have to some work to do if we are to reach our end-of-season goals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Langdon said the next two weeks are key to how Lincolnview\u2019s season ends.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHopefully, these wins will motivate the kids to continue to work hard and to re-focus on some of our goals that we set for the end of the season,\u201d Coach Langdon added. \u201cThere were a lot of smiles today and that is always a good thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Crestview\u2019s Ashley Bowen was fifth in the small-school girls\u2019 race (20:50), while Lady Knight Leslie Skelton finished 12th (21:37).<\/p>\n<p>In the middle school division, the Van Wert boys won the title, while the VWMS Lady Cougars were runners-up to Minster. In the boys\u2019 race, Lincolnview was fourth and Crestview eighth, while the Lady Lancers were sixth and the Lady Knights ninth in the girls\u2019 race.<\/p>\n<p>Top runners for the VWMS boys were Keaton Brown, Ries Wise, Holden Reichert, Charlie Pauquette and Noah Miller.<\/p>\n<p>For the VWMS girls, top runners included Caylee Phillips, Jerica Huebner, Rachel Verville, Ali Gemmer and Hannah Baker.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur kids ran really well today, with both girls and boys stepping up today in order to take home some trophy hardware,\u201d VWMS Coach Ben Laudick said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_68351\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-68351\" style=\"width: 545px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/VWCH-CC-meet-9-26-15-Lview-boys.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-68351  \" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" alt=\"The Lincolnview Lancers won the Blue Division boys' race at the Van Wert County Hospital Cross Country Meet on Saturday.
