Monday’s spirit week theme was Pajama Day, and Tuesday was Fashion Disaster Day. Yesterday, the daily theme was Hawaiian, and the powderpuff game between the juniors and seniors took place; as well as the homecoming parade. Today’s theme is Retro Crestview, in which students are dressing up in Knights gear from previous decades. Tomorrow, the theme will be Crestview spirit, and the football team will take on the Ada Bulldogs at 7:00.

Homecoming ceremonies will begin at 6:30 p.m.. The dance will be Saturday, Oct. 3, from 7-10 p.m. in the auditeria, and the theme will be “Fall Festival.”

Freshman Wade Sheets is looking forward to his first homecoming experience as a high school student, “I’m sure the dance will be fun, but I’m the most excited to eat with my friends before the dance, then hang out with them afterwards.”

The Crestview Marching Knights have started the year off with some changes. They are now under the direction of Jason Lozer. “Welcoming a new director into the band program was definitely hard, but Mr. Lozer has really helped us with our sound,” says junior Ally Fegley. “He’s taught us that we don’t need to be something we’re not and try to sound like a big band when we can do our best to sound like a really great small band; which we are. We produce a fuller and more balanced sound now.”

Competition season has not started yet, but the band has been busy performing at both Mercer and Van Wert County Fairs, various parades, and football games.
