(photo submitted)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Twig-groups-give-to-VWCH-10-2015.jpg\" width=\"350\" height=\"273\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-69109\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Shown are (from the left) Nancy Farmer, Twig III representative; Mae Stoller, Twig I representative; Sharon Witten, Twig II chair and All-Twig Board chair, presenting check to VWCH President\/CEO Mark Minick; Ella Jackson, All-Twig Board comptroller; and Twig IV acting chairman Colleen Krauskopf.<\/strong> <em>(photo submitted)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;For over fifty years, the Twig group members have been raising monies for the good of the hospital and community,\u201d said All-Twig Board President Sharon Witten. \u201cWe have an amazing number of women participating in various Twig projects, as we support each other in friendship and giving.\u00a0\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Witten also thanked Twig IV members for their many years of service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have done\u00a0RADA cutlery sales, Christmas poinsettias, and monthly projects for the benefit of the hospital,\u201d Witten noted.\u00a0\u201cWe are sorry to have had the group dissolve at the beginning of the year due to declining participating memberships.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe salute them for all of their hard work accomplished with only a remaining few members&#8217; efforts,\u201d she said, adding that the other Twig groups would continue with some of their community projects.<\/p>\n<p>Twig groups I and II manage the Hospital Thrift Shop on Central Avenue, handling and selling gently used clothing and household small items and linens at a very reasonable price.\u00a0They are now also handling\u00a0 the RADA cutlery sales in the shop.<\/p>\n<p>Twig group III manages the Hospital Gift Shop and Tree of Light community project at Christmas.\u00a0 Members of Twig II group are also undertaking the poinsettia sales for merchants and community clients this year, and will be taking\u00a0orders in November for December delivery.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->New members are always encouraged to join and share their talents and passions with other volunteers in friendship and fellowship.<\/p>\n<p>Each group meets once a month and enjoys learning about hospital department services, as well as community group resources.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VW independent\/submitted information The All-Twig Board of Van Wert Hospital recently presented the hospital with a\u00a0check for $23,527.31, which is used to support patient-centered initiatives.
