Gloria Jean Hammond, 69, of Van Wert, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at her residence.<\/p>\n
She was born November 17, 1946, in Van Wert, a daughter of Gordon and June (Brenizer) Baxter, who both preceded her in death. She was married to Samuel Hammond, who also preceded her in death.<\/p>\n
Survivors include a daughter, Robin Thomas of Van Wert; one son, Brian (Andrea) Hammond of Kalida; three grandchildren, Gage, Lucas, and Cullen Hammond; a brother, Gary Baxter of Convoy; and one sister, Gwen Kemerly of Convoy.<\/p>\n
She loved spending time with her grandsons doing word finds and playing Uno. She was always very concerned about being a good friend and helping others in need. She had previously attended Wesley United Methodist Church in Van Wert.<\/p>\n
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 21, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Jim Burns officiating.<\/b><\/p>\n
Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 20, at the funeral home.<\/b><\/p>\n
