Roach-Recht"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Doris M. Roach-Recht, 86, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born in Sturgis, Michigan, Doris loved working with children as a teacher with Leo Elementary School in Fort Wayne for 20 years.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_71019\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-71019\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/2015\/12\/doris-m-roach-recht\/doris-roach-recht-obit-photo-12-2015\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-71019\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-71019 \" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" alt=\"Doris M. Roach-Recht\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Doris-Roach-Recht-obit-photo-12-2015.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"373\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-71019\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Doris M. Roach-Recht<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, the Eagles of Albion, American Legion Auxiliary of Albion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Kendallville, Indiana; Retired Teachers of Indiana, and the Rosary Sodality of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are her daughters, Beth (Bill) Silkworth and Mary (Randall) Miller, both of Fort Wayne; three sons, Philip (Tracy) Roach of Fort Wayne, Michael (Sara) Roach of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, and David (Laura) Roach of Delphos; two stepdaughters, Patricia (Skip) Parisot of Fort Wayne and Mary (David) Woods of Garrett, Indiana; one stepson, John (Kathy) Recht of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Her first husband, Thomas Roach; second husband, Melvin Recht; parents Paul and Marie Shook; and a sister, Lois Green, also preceded her in death.<\/p>\n<p><b>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 19, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Drive in Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 18, at D.O.
