{"id":7168,"date":"2011-05-01T17:54:15","date_gmt":"2011-05-01T22:54:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=7168"},"modified":"2011-05-01T17:54:15","modified_gmt":"2011-05-01T22:54:15","slug":"lena-may-storie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2011\/05\/01\/lena-may-storie\/","title":{"rendered":"Lena May Storie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lena May Storie, 85, of Van Wert, died at 4:55 a.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7169\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7169\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7169 \" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Lena-Storie-obit-photo-5-2011.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"329\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-7169\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lena May Storie<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She was born October 2, 1925, in Governeur, N.Y., the daughter of the late Charles W. and Ella Jane (Thompson) Stowell. On June 14, 1944, she married Richard M. Storie, who preceded her in death on March 21, 2000.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Storie was employed at Borden Cheese Company and Federal-Mogul Corporation and retired in 1989 after 30 years of service. She was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert and its Friendship Sunday School Class.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include four children, Nancy McPherson of Fort Wayne, Ind., Shirley (Jerry) Beard of Van Wert, Eunice (Ron) Bober of Greenwood, Ind., and Richard (Bo) Storie II of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Charles Lynn Stowell of Governeur, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Andrea (Jeff) Callaghan of Fort Worth, Texas, Aaron (Yo) Wagonrod of Columbus, Carrie (Jason) Anspach of Fort Wayne, Curtis (Samantha) Beard of Parker, Colo., Dawn (James) Myers of Huntsville, Texas, Ryan (Anna) Bober of Greenwood, Ind., and Bryson Storie of Nashville, Tenn.; and two great-grandchildren, Aaran Bober of Greenwood, Ind., and Alexandra Callaghan of Fort Worth, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Three brothers, Melvin, Maynard and Wallace Stowell, and a sister, Ethel, also preceded her in death.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Clark Williman officiating.
