Thomas Edison Early Childhood Center information<\/i><\/p>\n
Developmental screenings for children ages 3-5 will be offered residents of Crestview, Lincolnview, Delphos City, Parkway, Spencerville, and Wayne Trace.<\/p>\n
The screenings will be held at Thomas Edison Early Childhood Center in Van Wert from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, February 12. Appointments can be made by calling the Edison Early Childhood Center at 419.238.4019 or 419.238.1514, extension 221, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.<\/p>\n
Children will be assessed in the areas of height, weight, vision, hearing, and language, cognition, gross and fine motor, self-help, and social-emotional skills. After the screening, results will be shared with parents or caregivers.<\/p>\n
The assessment provides families with the opportunity to see how their children are progressing in relationship to other children of the same age.<\/p>\n
If a child displays an area of concern, further assessment will be scheduled at the parents or caregivers\u2019 convenience. The additional visit will let teachers check for the delays in a different play environment. Children who continue to show a delay will be invited to a play-based multi-factored evaluation session of Thomas Edison Early Childhood Center.<\/p>\n
