Testing began on Tuesday and finished on Friday. “My hardest exam was World History. I studied by filling out the study guide,” said freshman Avery McCoy. Many students’ schedules have changed for the second semester. Freshmen who took Health first semester may now enjoy an extra study hall, or students who had study hall could be taking an elective for the second half of the year.

Crestview’s show choir group, Knight Vision, competed at Carroll last Saturday. The group placed second overall in their division with Kenzi Case winning best performer. A competition day starts at approximately eight in the morning, and it ends sometime between six and midnight. First, when Knight Vision members arrive at the school, the girls have to come with their hair curled and partial makeup on. From there, they leave for the competition. Once they arrive, they either eat lunch or watch other schools perform. When it comes time to perform, they start with a 30-minute warm-up, and then take the stage. After they perform, they wait for awards to be presented. Senior Danielle Ray has been in Knight Vision for four years. “Even though competitions can be long and tiring, it is interesting to watch the bigger schools,” she said.

All of the high school basketball teams faced county rival Lincolnview last week. Last Thursday, the JV and Varsity girls and the Freshman boys came away with victories. The Freshman team won 32-28, and the JV girls won 32-20. The Varsity girls defeated the Lancers in an overwhelming 58-17 victory. “We knew that we had to come out intense from the beginning since it was such a big rivalry game. We knew that they would be ready to play, so we matched that,” said senior Emily Bauer. On Friday, the JV and Varsity boys took on the Lancers at Lincolnview. The JV won a hard fought battle 46-43. The Varsity team contended with an experienced Lancer team in a 60-48 loss.

By Hannah Bowen The students of Crestview High School were hard at work last week studying for first semester exams.
