{"id":73142,"date":"2016-02-05T09:02:09","date_gmt":"2016-02-05T14:02:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=73142"},"modified":"2016-02-05T09:02:09","modified_gmt":"2016-02-05T14:02:09","slug":"burkley-provides-info-on-grant-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2016\/02\/05\/burkley-provides-info-on-grant-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Burkley provides info on grant program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>COLUMBUS &#8212; State Representative Tony Burkley (R-Payne) announced on Thursday information regarding the application process for the Local Government Safety Capital Grant.<\/p>\n<p>Initiated by the Ohio House of Representatives and included in the state operating budget for fiscal years 2016 and 2017, these grants can help to fund public safety projects in local communities throughout Ohio, including those in the 82nd House District.<\/p>\n<p>Funding for eligible projects must be used for purchasing vehicles, equipment, facilities and\/or systems utilized by police, fire, and\/or EMS providers to enhance public safety. The total request amount for projects is $100,000 per individual political subdivision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving come from local government, I know these types of grants will benefit our communities greatly and I encourage them to take a look to decide what would best fit their needs.\u201d said Burkley<\/p>\n<p>Applications must be submitted online and will be accepted February 16 through March 21.
