Roberts, 80, of Van Wert, died at 8:45 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2016, at his residence, surrounded by his family.<\/p>\n<p>He was born March 26, 1935, in Van Wert, the son of Herman Roberts and Rilla (Craig) Roberts-Shinaberry, who both preceded him in death. On December 12, 1953, he married Hazel J. (Kline) Roberts, who also preceded him in death.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include four children, Diane Kupper, Randy (Sallie) Roberts, Timothy (Michelle) Roberts, and Shelby Roberts, all of Van Wert; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Three brothers, Rudolf \u201cRudy\u201d, Gene, and Todd Roberts; and five sisters, Crystal Gwodz, Natalie Gerigog, Virginia Straley, Becky Fetheroff, and Gloria Kemmel, also preceded him in death.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home &amp; Crematory in Van Wert, with Pastor Ken Bell officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, at the funeral home.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preferred memorials: Donors\u2019 choice.<\/p>\n<p>Online condolences may be expressed at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alspachgearhart.com\">www.alspachgearhart.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rev.
