County Prosecuting Attorney Charles F. Kennedy is also asking for area residents\u2019 help.<\/p>\n<p>On July 17, 1974, Robin Bender brutally murdered two members of the Van Wert County community during a home invasion near Delphos. Bender used a shotgun at point-blank range to murder both Kenneth Youngpeter and his father, Louis Youngpeter.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_73636\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-73636\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-73636\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Robin-Bender-mugshot-2-2016.jpg\" alt=\"Robin Bender\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Robin-Bender-mugshot-2-2016.jpg 800w, https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Robin-Bender-mugshot-2-2016-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Robin-Bender-mugshot-2-2016-550x550.jpg 550w, https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Robin-Bender-mugshot-2-2016-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-73636\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Robin Bender<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Sudduth, Kenneth Youngpeter\u2019s widow, was badly wounded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBender left two women without their husbands and two young children without their father,\u201d Kennedy notes. \u201cBender has had multiple attempts at parole and has been denied each time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutor Kennedy points out that Bender\u2019s next parole hearing is scheduled for April of this year, is the prosecutor urges the Van Wert County residents to help stop Bender\u2019s parole effort.<\/p>\n<p>Those interested in keeping Bender in prison can go to the website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blockparole.com\">www.blockparole.com<\/a>, follow the link to, and then click on \u201cParole Petitions\u201d and \u201cThe Youngpeters\u201d to access a short easy-to-use form that people can fill out and submit over the Internet.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Kennedy\u2019s efforts, the Van Wert County Board of Commissioners will be meeting next Tuesday to also look at formally requesting that the Ohio Parole Board turn down Bender\u2019s parole request.<\/p>\n<p>Bender was sentenced to life in prison for murdering the Youngpeters, but his case is reviewed every five years to ascertain whether he is eligible for parole.
