{"id":73805,"date":"2016-02-26T09:18:17","date_gmt":"2016-02-26T14:18:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=73805"},"modified":"2016-02-26T09:18:17","modified_gmt":"2016-02-26T14:18:17","slug":"penrod-to-appear-for-free-npac-concert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2016\/02\/26\/penrod-to-appear-for-free-npac-concert\/","title":{"rendered":"Penrod to appear for free NPAC concert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Stephen Coyle and his National Stroke Association-My \u201cStroke of Luck will present a free concert and crusade at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center featuring Grammy- and multiple-GMA Dove Award-winning recording artist Guy Penrod on\u00a0Sunday, April 24, at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_73806\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-73806\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-73806\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Guy-Penrod-headshot-2-2016.jpg\" alt=\"Guy Penrod\" width=\"200\" height=\"232\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-73806\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Guy Penrod<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Penrod is a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame from his days as lead singer of the Gaither Vocal Band from 1994 to 2008. His unmistakable, rasp-tinged vocals led him to the top of the Gospel charts in his solo career, and his most recently acclaimed sophomore release, <em>Hymns<\/em>, debuted at No. 1 on the Nielsen SoundScan Southern Gospel retail chart, as well being as the top-selling southern Gospel album of 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Penrod released an all-new collection of some of today\u2019s most popular songs of worship on his 2014 album <em>Worship<\/em>. He used his unique talents to bring to life new renditions of both classic and contemporary songs, like \u201cShout to the Lord,\u201d \u201cRevelation Song,\u201d \u201cVictory in Jesus,\u201d \u201cYou Never Let Go,\u201d \u201c10,000 Reasons\u201d and more.
